Description
These spoon blanks are offered in two species of wood:
Air-dried northern Minnesota white Birch for eating use (Betula papyrifera.)
Or, air-dried northern Minnesota Basswood, softer for decorative carving / learning to carve. ( Tilia americana )
We get the wood from a local Amish sawmill, I select each log to be rough cut, then we bandsaw and dry each blank with care in our shop.
Get a free one added by ordering 10 or more – any mix of the two. When ordering there is a place to add a note, just state specie you would like.

Del’s spoon blanks both birch and basswood are the best. They are generic so there are endless possibilities as to what you can carve. I like to work out a spoon design using basswood which is easier to carve and then duplicate the spoon using birch. You cannot beat the price of these spoon blanks anywhere.

Del was super easy to work with and the spoon blanks were fantastic

Never carved air dried blanks before. These were quite nice. The trade off seems to be that roughing out might be a little more difficult but the finishing is very crisp. All in all I would buy these again.
