A new batch of Kolrosers should be out in about a week. Last month, after a year, I managed to make 30 Slojd knives. They are all gone because I tried my new system of notifying only the first 30 people who joined the waitlist a year ago. (The waitlists are now closed.)

Well, folks, retirement is fully taking hold… I will make a few spoon and figure carving knives yet, I can’t say when though, and it will be a small fraction of the folks on the year  old notify list.   If I can figure  way to do it, when I do I have knives to offer, the announcement will first go out to the folks who have waited longest – to be fair to them.

Well, at 72 years, it appears I am 7/8 retired from knife making. I realize I have never been retired before! –  so every month is a new step. Reality is that, with arthritis increasing, a 25 year backlog  in things like trimming the windows in our house ( that I started in 1997)…., and a new passion for  saving glorious old 100 to 200 year old spinning wheels ……..Knives are not as often getting finished these days.

So, I can no longer guess when Harley knives or Spoon Knives will get done.

I am managing to keep up with Kolrosing knives, as they are easy on the hands..

The Notify List for all my tools today has a staggering 1,263 people.

Please don’t be unhappy with me, I am really enjoying life. I so hope that producing things for others for 55  years was enough, as I have loved every minute. I will still make a few tools as I can, but no promises or deadlines.
